ULTRA

10 white privileged Western European men stand on the stage in ULTRA. Through support, movement and resistance they examine the insistent force in moving in unison. The men constantly strive to do the same thing and towards a total surrender to the group.

With mass and the unison as theme the performance asks how the individual stands in unity with others? The unison is a process in which all elements behave the same way at the same time; simultaneously or synchronously in parallel operation. In marching military parades, public demonstrations, large groups of football fans and the city's bustling crowds a significant power of the unison reveals itself. With the synchronous arises the idea of perfection. Where there is no room for chance. The ultra-synchronous goes beyond what is humanly possible - where man would be mechanical.

ULTRA examines the community's power in relation to the concepts of extremism and sense of identity and critically asks whether there is a real chance to stand together in the group?

ULTRA premiered at Norrlandsoperan, Umeå (SE) and went on to perform at Dansstationen, Malmö (SE), Dansehallerne, Copenhagen (DK), Vara Konserthus, Vara (SE) and Bora Bora, Aarhus (DK).
